Seeds, nuts and legumes - great for detox

by Belinda

You advise to avoid legumes, seeds and nuts, but alot of your recipes include these. I would like to do the 7 day detox for myself and 3 day detox for my husband. Should I avoid all the abovementioned until after 3 & 7 days and only include them thereafter?

I have also purchased wheatgrass and mung beans thinking these were okay to use from day 1 onwards!

Answer: I am not sure where we would mention avoiding nuts, seeds and legumes! Let us know if you found that anywhere on our site! Those are important sources of protein and fat that can be used throughout your detox.

By all means, use your wheatgrass and mung beans! Both are fantastic cleansing foods. We have a page full of information on wheatgrass and other supergreens. Our page on cleansing foods includes information on some of the best seeds and nuts for cleansing. And mung beans are a classic cleansing food in the Ayurvedic system from India - used in "kitcheree" with rice, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and celery. Have a great cleanse!
