Kale Chips
Kale chips are a delicious detox snack and a great way to get extra greens! If you’re craving something salty and crunchy make this yummy treat instead of reaching for a bag of chips. Treats like this make it easy to stay committed to your detox even when cravings pop up.
These chips are also a great snack for kids. Even kids who may be skeptical of greens and vegetables really enjoy them. Once your kids get munching on these chips you’ll be amazed at how much kale they wind up eating!
Kale is one of our favorite detox foods. It’s rich in several essential nutrients, high in dietary fiber and low in calories, making it a super cleansing food.
Experiment with different spice combinations.
Ingredients:
(use organic ingredients whenever possible)
- 1-2 bunches of kale
- olive oil
- sea salt to taste
- spice of your choice* (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
- Remove kale from stalk, leaving the greens in large pieces.
- Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the kale and then rub it into the kale with your hands.
- Sprinkle with sea salt and optional spices.
- Spread kale on a cookie sheet.
- Bake for 5 minutes or until it starts to turn a bit brown.
Keep an eye on the kale, it can burn quickly. Turn the kale over and bake with the other side up.
- Remove and serve.
* try curry, cumin, chili blend, garam masala or another favorite spice.
