High Blood Pressure and Dry Skin Brushing
Why can't you dry brush if you have high blood pressure?
Answer: I was unable to find a very clear answer to this question. I saw a few warnings for people to avoid dry skin brushing if they have high blood pressure, diabetes, psoriasis or eczema but they included no explanation.
Obviously, severe skin disorders, rashes and open wounds would be aggravated by dry skin brushing. But this warning may be misleading for the internal issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
Generally speaking, natural detoxification is the best way to alleviate such disorders. Dry skin brushing may be especially helpful for those struggling with obesity, diabetes and/or high blood pressure as it increases flow in the body, releases stored toxins and stimulates strength and flexibility within the tissues.
The dry skin brushing action works to stimulate lymphatic flow, helping your white blood cells do their detoxifying work. As wastes are removed from your blood many of these types of health problems are alleviated.
Because I wasn't able to find any solid information to support either the pro or con side of this discussion I highly recommend (as always) to use your own best judgment.
If you feel that your blood pressure keeps you from being able to use the dry skin brushing technique I encourage you use the many other modalities and techniques we offer here to support your health and lower your blood pressure.
