Sesame Grapefruit Salad
This sesame grapefruit salad is a unique invention that will tantalize your taste buds. Grapefruit mixed with greens, sesame tahini and raw honey creates a sweet and sour taste sensation that nourishes and cleanses your body.
Grapefruit is a highly cleansing fruit that balances your body pH. A body that is alkaline is healthy and vibrant. Disease simply cannot develop in an alkaline body. An acidic body allows yeast, viruses, cancer and other parasites to thrive. Meat, dairy, flour products, sugar and virtually all processed foods cause acidity in your body.
Foods that create an alkaline condition include all raw vegetables, raw fruits, millet, almonds, and soaked seeds. Lemons, limes, and grapefruits are especially alkaline. Although it might seem that citrus fruits would have an acidifying effect on the body, the citric acid they contain actually has an alkalinizing effect in the system. Raw honey is alkaline while pastuerized honey is acidic.
The sesame tahini in this recipe is high in calcium and is also alkaline. You can make it fresh with our tahini recipe using only sesame seeds, lemon and salt, or you can purchase organic tahini from your health food store.
