Detox to jumpstart weight loss?

I'm looking for a detox to jump start weight loss. I was looking at the 7 day detox on your website (for $27) and wondered if that is what you would recommend? Is this the only detox you offer? Can you explain it a little more to me?

Answer: The 7 Day Detox is a great choice for jumpstarting weightloss.

The toxic build up that we all have can prevent weight loss because our body is protecting us from those toxins, by storing them in fat. When we clean up our daily intake, it gives the body permission to let go of some of those stored toxins. It does this by freeing up our liver and kidneys from keeping up with the daily onslaught, allowing them to focus on cleaning up the released toxins.

Our detox is also gentle, so it doesn't shock the body and cause it to go into an emergency mode, thus just storing more fat. The detox tea will be really important for you - to give the organs extra cleansing support. So make sure you follow the instructions for it, using bulk herbs you can get at any health food store or through our online store.

Other options are creating you own detox using our free guidelines. However, we found that many people need more help than that and really want it laid out for them. With the 7 Day Detox you will receive all of the recipes, shopping list and menu plan for your entire week. This simplifies your planning and leaves the guesswork out of it. We also offer Guided Group Detoxes about four times per year, generally around the changing seasons or after the Holidays. So you can watch for those opportunities in order to join us for group support and live conference calls.

seafood and ground turkey?

I just purchased the Detox and I'm excited to get started!

I've been reading through the recipes, but nothing else so far. I'm guessing there is something that will clue me in as to how to eat after my detox? Is all meat/seafood considered toxic? I can live without red meat, but really like seafood and ground turkey.

"Toxic" is a relative term and there is a continuum - see our Detox Planner available free with our newsletter. It also depends on your body and how it responds.

Organic meat can have an important place in diet - conventional meat is however not recommended - there are just too many hormones, antiobiotics and other things in it that our bodies just do not need.

Seafood can be very healthy, but in today's world if we eat too much of it we take on a lot of mercury that becomes toxic. Some seafoods carry more than others. Your 7 Day Detox packet will help you with all of this and will be useful in creating your own plan for how to eat after your detox.

How to eat after your detox

Hi Jen,

I'm so glad that you're ready to get started on our 7 Day Detox! It's a great way to kickstart weightloss but I think you're smart to be thinking about what will come after the detox. Of course, the long term goal of losing weight and keeping it off will have to be supported by the diet/lifestyle you establish after your detox.
