Detox Bath Questions
by Tawnya
Hello, I have a few questions about the detox bath...
Q #1 When your in the bath detoxifying does submerging the body part that you want the most benefit from matter? For example my neck and shoulders?
Q#2 I suffer from chronic pain and I experience this mainly in the morning so does time of day that I have my detox bath matter?
Q#3 Before I start my detox bath what is the most effective way of cleaning the bath tub prior to my bath. I was apprehensive about using chemicals just before my detox bath?
Answers: Hi Tawnya, Thank you for these questions about using the Detox Bath treatment.
Detoxifying Baths are a great way to reduce chronic pain. Chronic pain is often caused by a build up of toxins in our tissue and blood. These toxins can settle in to our muscles and joints causing stiffness, inflammation and pain. The detox baths can be very helpful but for the best results you'll want to combine them with an internal cleanse to make sure that you're moving the toxins out effectively and not accumulating more through your diet.
We recommend using our
7 Day Detox Plan and taking a detox bath every night during your cleansing week to reduce your chronic pain. Please let us know about the results you experience.
Submerging the areas of your body that experience the most pain is an excellent idea. The hot water and salts in the bath will soften those muscles as you soak. Use calming essential oils like lavender, peppermint or clary sage to increase the muscle relaxant property of the bath. You can make your own custom
Bath Salts by following our guidelines.
If you are experiencing your pain mostly in the morning I would try taking your bath right before bed. Prepare for sleep by getting thoroughly relaxed in your detox bath and go right to bed after that. Try to get to bed by 10pm on a relatively empty stomach to increase your nightly detoxification process. That means trying not to eat after 7 or 8pm.
When you wake up in the morning be sure to
hydrate well. This is VERY important when you are doing intensive detoxing. You can also use a
tongue scraper first thing in the morning to remove the toxins that built up in the night. If you are using a tongue scraper, do that before drinking your water. Try to drink about a quart of water upon waking, before breakfast. Staying well, hydrated, eating only whole nourishing foods and avoiding caffeine and sugar are all effective ways to reduce chronic physical pain.
As for cleaning your bathtub, you're on the right track. Using conventional cleaners would leave a toxic residue in your bath that would be counter productive for detoxification. Be sure to use all natural cleaners. There are many brands available at natural grocery stores, but the easiest and most effective cleaner is baking soda. It's an excellent abrasive cleaner that removes soap scum and stains and leaves your tub naturally clean.
If your household water is chlorinated (all city water supplies are) you can also add 1 cup of baking soda to your bath to neutralize the chlorine and soften the water.
We hope this is helpful and that you find relief from your pain soon! Please let us know how it goes...
